Beach & Circus

Our cousins are in town for a few days so we decided to go to the beach with them yesterday. The kids had a great time and the weather was so nice down there. The water was a little on the cold side but that didn't stop the kids. Lauren loved it and was shivering most of the time but she still wanted to be in it. Poor girl needs some more meat on her bones. The boys had a blast as always. It's nice to have some boys around for Blake to play with every once in a while. His boy cousins (besides Jack) live in other states so he doesn't see them too often. So they enjoyed riding the waves on their boogie boards, burying each other with sand and finding sand crabs. After the beach Blake went over to my grandma's house to play baseball and hang out with Matthew and Ethan while the girls went home to take a late, but needed, nap.

Today we went to the circus at the Honda Center. Our friends from church gave us tickets to their suite to watch the show. My family went, minus Bryan who is hiking Mt. Whitney, Kaylee, the kids, my mom, my friend Princeen and her son Brady, and Coryn (Amanda's friend from the preschool). It was a lot of fun. The kids ate a lot of junk (cotton candy, popcorn, cookies, licorice, snow cones.) It wouldn't be the circus without all that fun stuff to eat. We saw elephants, tigers, acrobats, clowns, illusionist acts, etc. I remember the circus with netting under the performers. Now a days there is only a small mat, if that, to catch them if they fall. The performers don't use any safety cables either. Some of the acrobats were a little crazy wrapping themselves around these pieces of material and flinging their bodies around from about 40 feet off the ground. We all had a fun time at the circus.

Have you ever seen trained Zebra's? This isn't the best picture but my camera wasn't liking the lights.
