School's Out!!

Today was the last day of school! Yea! That means I (and the kids) don't have any home work for a couple months. It's nice to have a break from school and not have to be rushing around all the time. The past few weeks have been a little crazy and hectic. The schools like to see how much stuff they can cram into the last weeks. This week has been packed with a field trip to the Fullerton Arboretum (Amanda's class), a park day (Blake's class), awards assemblies (for both kids), a Goldilocks and the 3 bears musical (Amanda's class), class parties, and a party with the Daisy's at Scooter's Jungle. This week has been very fun but I'm glad it is almost over. Not that my summer will be anything super relaxing, but at least I won't have school or homework to keep up with, which will be nice.
For all of you who always have sick little kids at home, let me tell you that one day it will pay off. Amanda and Blake were sick a whole lot when they were little, but as they get these viruses they are building up their immune systems so they are healthy in school. This year Blake and Amanda both got an award for having perfect attendance with no tardies for the entire year. We have been very blessed with healthy kids this year!
Now that summer is here we are starting to plan activities with the kids to keep them busy and me sane. In a couple weeks Amanda will start swimming lessons and Blake will go to a sports camp they have at his school for a few weeks. In July we are going camping with the Austins in Lee Vining (near Yosemite) and in August we are going camping with our family at the beach. We will also be going to see the free movies, participating in the library reading clubs, beach days, swimming, play days with friends and anything else we find that is cheap to free.
A couple weeks ago we did get to go camping at O'Neill Park where we took the trailer we got from Bryan's parents to test it out. We had a nice time. Here are some pictures of some things we did the past few weeks.

Fullerton Arboretum

Best Friends-Jackie, Amanda and Amanda E.

Park Day

Best Friends-Blake and Trevor

Blake jumping over the "river."

Blake and Anna Kate playing a game where you pass a candy back and forth on a spoon without dropping it.

Goldilocks and The Three Bears Musical

Amanda and her class before the show.

Last Day Party

Playing Twister

Of course the girls won!!

Camping at O'Neill Park

The trailer was a hit with the kids, especially Lauren who just likes to go in and out of it all day long.

The Nature Center at the park.

There are mountain lions in the park so the kids were acting like they were scared.

The girls coloring in the trailer.

Roasting hot dogs. There are water spots on the picture because it was drizzling that evening.
